Pennington, NJ - CaRu Crew and Cadettes families and fans, and friends of CaRu Entertainment are invited to come by the CaRu studio in The Shoppes of Pennington on December 17 from 7:30 -9 p.m. to celebrate the holiday season. This will be a wonderful chance to gather, and enjoy refreshments and good company. A short holiday routine will be taught at 8 p.m. for any interested dancers.

CaRu's CASSIE RUSSO NAMED PHILADELPHIA SOULMATES CHOREOGRAPHER

Philadelphia, PA - The Philadelphia Soul has named CaRu Entertainment's Cassie Russo as the Soulmates Dance Team Choreographer for the 2010 season. Her first official duty will be to oversee the open call event at the Philadelphia Airport Hilton this Sunday, November 27.

"With passion, dedication, and a true love for the sports and entertainment industry, it is a distinct honor to represent the Philadelphia Soul organization," said Russo. "I'm beyond thrilled and excited to get started, we are ready to work to our highest potential and beyond."

PILOXING Coming to CaRu NJ in 2012

Pennington, NJ - In January 2012, the CaRu Entertainment studio in Pennington, NJ will be offering Piloxing classes. Instructors Cassie and Emily will be hosting classes weekly. Check CaRuNJ.com for updated schedules.

Piloxing is the latest Hollywood celebrity fitness craze that combines Pilates and boxing to melt fat and create lean muscle, focusing on both strength and flexibility. Piloxing is the brainchild of Swedish dancer and celebrity trainer Viveca Jensen. It's a favorite of actors like Hilary and Hallie Duff, Amanda Crew and Tiffany Tynes.

CaRu's Cassie Russo to Teach at East Coast Pro Dance Convention

Philadelphia, PA - CaRu Entertainment's Cassie Russo has been chosen to be one of four featured choreographers at the 2nd Annual East Coast Pro Dance Convention on Saturday, November 19 at the Wydham Gardens Hotel in Philadelphia.

Hosted by Going Pro Entertainment, the East Coast Pro Dance Convention is designed for former, current and aspiring professional dancers and cheerleaders looking to gain insider insight about the industry. It's also open to coaches and directors as a way to get fresh choreography.

Along with Cassie teaching the afternoon routine, the day also includes speciality workout regimes, make-up and hair tips, and instruction of sideline dances.

New York, NY - CaRu Entertainment presented a rendition of "Be Italian" from the Broadway musical and movie Nine during NYC's Columbus Day Parade 2011 yesterday. Eight CaRu dancers channeled their inner Saraghina's as they performed for nearly one million spectators on a float that traveled down Fifth Avenue.

The 20-block journey concluded with a performance at the Columbus Citizens Foundation's red carpet that was aired on ABC 7 New York.

A special thanks to the Columbus Citizens Foundation for their invitation to perform and to Bod's Floats in Clifton, New Jersey for providing a spectacular stage. CaRu Entertainment would also like to thank the "Be Italian" dancers:

CaRu Entertainment Presents "Be Italian" at NYC Columbus Day Parade

New York, NY - On Monday, CaRu Entertainment perform at this year's Columbus Day Parade in New York City presented by the Columbus Citizens Foundation. Dancers from CaRu will be presenting an interpretation of "Be Italian" from the Broadway musical and movie, Nine.

The parade will be aired live on WABC-TV from 12 noon to 3 p.m.

CaRu Entertainment Auditions Inaugural Competition Team

Pennington, NJ - On Saturday, nearly 30 hopefuls attended CaRu Entertainment's first-ever auditions for their competition team, The CaRu Crew. Ten young dancers from the ages of 10 to 17 were chosen to be a part of the inaugural team. The CaRu Crew's home base will the the CaRu studio in Pennington, NJ.

The CaRu directors also invited 13 dancers to join The CaRu Cadettes - a competition training team that will join The Crew at performances in the Pennington area.

"Our goal is to teach dancers, both on The Crew and The Cadettes, how to express their individuality, their own personalities through dance," said Executive Director, Cassie Russo. "It's about that 'it' factor and having a group of students who truly represent what CaRu is all about. I'm so impressed with the passion these dancers have to express themselves through movement."

2011 Vixens Dance Team First Appearance of the Season

Conshohocken, PA - The 2011 Philadelphia Fight Vixens Dance Team made their first appearance of the season at this weekend's USARL 9's tournament. Come see them cheer on the Fight on Saturday, June 11 at the A.A. Garthwaite Stadium. Game begins at 5 p.m.

Synergy Star of the Month: Lauren Bolton

New York, NY - Synergy Dance Convention is proud to announce Lauren Bolton as May's Synergy Star of the Month.

Lauren attended Synergy's workshop in Scottsdale, AZ at the DC Ranch earlier this month. She displayed the passion and spirit that Synergy's faculty constantly tries to instill in their dancers, despite being new to formal dance training. She proved that it is not only about technique but about bringing individuality to performing - no matter the level.

Lauren is 8-years-old and is in 2nd grade at Copper Ridge Elementary. Originally born in San Francisco but has been living in Scottsdale for six years. The first time Lauren received formal dance training was with CaRu Entertainment, but she previously enjoyed performing in front of her fireplace at home.

She says that the best parts of dancing with CaRu were the instructors and learning the routines. Lauren also enjoys tennis and gymnastics, and goes to Xtreme Gymnastics in Scottsdale.

Philadelphia, PA - CaRu Entertainment's friend, Kathy Romano of WMMR, is hosting a benefit for her youngest brother, Christopher, this Friday at Kildare's in Manayunk from 7 - 11 p.m. Show your support by attending Christopher's Ball!

Earlier this year, Christopher - a 21-year-old Temple University student - was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He is currently undergoing Chemotherapy treatment at Fox Chase Cancer Center and is working hard to fight the disease. The event is a way to raise money to relieve some of the financial burden on the family.

CaRu Entertainment Supports: Shut Up & Dance 2011

Philadelphia, PA - CaRu Entertainment encourages anyone who loves dance to attend the 19th annual performance of "Shut Up & Dance." The one-night-only event benefits MANNA (Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance) and is presented by The Pennsylvania Ballet. A night of original dances for a good cause that cannot be missed.

Emceed by XPN morning host Michaela Majoun, the performance will be held at the Forrest Theater this Saturday, May 21 at 8 p.m. Each ticket purchased will provide more than 20 meals to a MANNA client coping with a life-threatening illness such as HIV/AIDS, cancer, diabetes and renal disease.

Tickets are available at www.mannapa.org/dance for $50, $75 and $100. Exclusive parties will be held before and after the "Shut Up & Dance" performance and admittance into these parties can also be purchased on the site.

In 1993, dancers of the Pennsylvana Ballet were wondering what they could do to respond to the VIV/AIDS epidemic. They realized that the best thing they could do was "shut up and dance." The dancers choreograph and rehearse each piece in their spare time in what is a true labor of love for the community.

"For 19 years, The Dancers of the Pennsylvania Ballet have poured their heart and soul into this one-night-only performance," said Richard Keaveney, CEO of MANNA.

Choregraphers scheduled for this year's performance include Pennsylvania Ballet company members Justin Allen, Ian Hussy, Jermel Johnson, Meredith Rainy, Alex Racliffe-Lee, Haley Rowe, Jonathan Stiles, and Eric Trope.

Conshohocken, PA - CaRu Entertainment and the Philadelphia Fight Rugby League welcomed 15 members to the 2011 Philadelphia Fight Vixens Dance Team on Sunday, March 13. Along with seven returning veterans from both the 2009 and 2010 seasons, the Fight Vixens selected eight new faces to be a part of the upcoming 2011 Fight season.

CaRu Entertainment's Founder and Artistic Director, Cassie Russo, started off the evening with a grueling warm-up to get the girls ready for Vixens' coach and choreographer, Heather Grasso, who is back for her second season.

Grasso gave the dancers a taste of the Vixens' dance style, and the candidates then performed the combination for a panel of judges. For the first time in Vixens' history, the panel included a returning captain. Captain of the 2010 Fight Vixens, Meghan Lorraine, joined the ranks of the judging panel to help select the new team.

Dancers were chosen based on dance technique, showmanship and physical appearance. The auditions had a strong turn out, allowing the judges to choose the largest team in the Philadelphia Fight Vixens' three year history.

Vixens Dance Team Auditions Only 10 Days Away

Conshohocken, PA - CaRu Entertainment presents the 2011 Philadelphia Fight Dance Team auditions on Sunday, March 13 from 6-9 p.m. at the Suburban Sports Training Center in Conshohocken.

CaRu Entertainment Presents Synergy Dance Convention

New York, NY - CaRu Entertainment presents the official roll out of their highly anticipated Synergy Dance Convention 2011 series. Featuring sought-after choreographers from the East Coast, Synergy is the embodiment of CaRu's motto, "DREAMS are merely VISIONS awaiting the OPPORTUNITY to become REALITY."

The weekend workshop-style convention travels all over the U.S. bringing New York City's energy, edge and intensity to every place it stops. Sessions include choreography from CaRu Entertainment's artistic director, Cassie Russo, dance technique training, fitness tips for dancers, and individualized critiques from industry insiders.

Synergy Dance Convention offers dancers, at any level, the tools they need to push past their current limitations. Whether it's a young dancer trying to place in competitions or an experienced performer looking to make a professional dance team, Synergy's faculty tailor their teaching to dancers' needs.

2011 Fight Vixens Dance Team Auditions Announced

Philadelphia, PA - CaRu Entertainment presents the 2011 Fight Vixens Dance Team auditions on Sunday, March 13 from 6-9 p.m. at Suburban Sports Training Center.

Cassie Russo, CaRu Entertainment's artistic director and NYC choreographer, will be hosting the try-outs. Fight Vixens Coach, Heather Grasso, will teach a combination to be performed in front a panel of judges. Judging will be based on dance technique, showmanship and overall appearance.

CaRu Dance Workshop in Philadelphia This Weekend

Conshohocken, PA - CaRu Entertainment is bringing their Synergy workshop to Conshohocken this Sunday, January 16 from 12-4 p.m. at Suburban Sports Training Center.

The workshop includes sessions with top choreographers from NYC and Philadelphia, one-on-one critiques and exclusive fitness tips for dancers.

This is also an opportunity for anyone interested in auditioning for the 2011 Fight Vixens Dance Team presented by CaRu Entertainment to get insider tips from judges and choreographers.

CaRu Entertainment introduces VIVA GLAMOUR!

It's glamour, live. Co-Founded by Cassie Russo of CaRu Entertainment, Christine Chan of Sukha Arts Center, and Marianne Delehanty of MarDelDance, Viva Glamour is cabaret-styled performing group founded on the fundamentals of jazz and theater dance.

Viva Glamour takes the audience into their world; one that is full of love, passion, emotion, and intrigue. With intense and effervescent group routines, Viva Glamour captivates the stage along with heart-felt and sincere interludes. This half-hour show is one that is sure to leave a mark...or even a kiss!

Viva Glamour will make their debut performance on January 22 at 8:00 p.m. at Touchstone Theater's Cabaret Nights in Bethleham, PA.
